Design Manager Maternity Cover (12 months) Nottingham £35 – 40k depending on experience Ref: GD237
Green Shoots Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Design Manager to manage an in-house Design Studio, creatively leading a team across on and offline, several brands and websites. Projects include advertising, on-site, display, email, social media, brochures, PoS, exhibitions, packaging and corporate. Lead the creative output of the team across all brands and channels as well as manage resource allocation ensuring delivery to a consistently high standard, to deadline and on brand. The team will work to internal briefs and work closely with the marketing and web development teams. This is a hands-on design role and design output will also be required.
Duties include:
- Manage a team of in-house designers
- Lead the creative development of brands and campaigns
- Ensure cross-channel consistency
- Develop and evolve brand guidelines and visual identity as appropriate
- Manage resource, projects, workflow and change
- Motivate, mentor, support and train team members and develop their skills
- Manage external resource as required
- Ensure all work meets brief and deadlines, is on brand and conforms to relevant standards
- Develop in-house standards and capabilities
- Oversee HTML email, website maintenance, CMS system support, photography, social media, e-commerce, website design
- Confidently liaise with key internal clients and external stake holders, developing strong relationships
- Create, implement and develop processes
Essential skills:
- Strong print / web design with examples
- Fluent in full Adobe Suite (InDesign – A MUST, Photoshop – A MUST)
- Ability to generate ideas and concepts
- Strong man management and leadership skills
- Brand and campaign experience
- Experience of direct marketing/ responsive driven creative/ marketing
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience
- Innovative, with creative flair
- Ability to manage resource, set priorities, report on progress and deliver on time
- Ability to resolve problems
- Work well under pressure
- Strong communication skills
- A creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude
Desirable skills:
- Good commercial awareness
- Print production knowledge
- Exceptional organisational skills; own and manage multiple design projects
- Have an understanding or interest in photography
- Excellent attention to detail
- Digital, print, advertising, packaging, PoS, branding
- University Degree in a design related discipline
- Experience working with content management systems, some experience of Magento, Umbraco and Wordpress
- HTML & CSS Code with examples
- Contribute to UI/UX design and development
- Web Design with examples
- Flash, Dreamweaver
