Green Shoots Recruitment Ltd is looking for an experienced Financial Journalist for a successful accountancy practice. They are seeking a financial journalist to join the team to create, schedule and distribute written, audio and visual content across multiple social platforms with a view to building the brand and influence of the organisation with a view to long-term growth.
The Financial Journalist role in general:
This is principally an office based role that may require travel. We are committed to building a legacy and a culture and do not believe that this can be done from home.
The content produced by most / all businesses in the industry is technical and stale. Their aim is to produce entertaining, engaging content for everyone that enfranchises, educates and engages their audience. Whilst in the initial phase of building this offering they will be targeting their closest audience the “blue sky” vision is to achieve a subscription offer similar in its offering to “The Daily Wire.”
The ideal Financial Journalist will possess the following attributes:
A passion for and deep understanding of free market economics, small and large business, capitalism and current events.
A passion and affinity for presenting their own content on film.
A passion and affinity for conversation
The capacity to be self-actualised and committed to the goals of the company
Good at working within a team – answerable to and working closely with the Head of Media & Marketing
Enthusiasm for the role and the goal
The ideal Financial Journalist will possess the following technical skills and be able to:
Light a shot properly with a view to creating the appropriate effect and achieve depth - demonstrate this with examples
Shoot film using a DSLR camera – demonstrate this with examples
Record professional quality audio – demonstrate this with examples
Edit using the Adobe creative suite
Schedule content for distribution across multiple platforms in multiple formats and file sizes
Use / be familiar with planning tools like hoot-suite and buffer
Seek out and cultivate relationships for the purposes of a regular podcast
Be capable / have experience distributing content across Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.
The ideal Financial Journalist will possess the following qualifications:
A degree in economics / politics or related field.
Salary:
We are flexible on the salary and have set the parameters at £18k to £30k depending on the skills, experience and cultural fit of the successful candidate.
