Full Stack Web Developer (Magento/PHP) Leicester C£35k Ref: WD128
Green Shoots Recruitment Ltd is looking for an experienced full stack web developer, with good Magento and PHP knowledge, to join the Ecommerce team at the company headquarters in Leicester, on a permanent basis.
This proud, independent, British business operating under a number of established and exciting brands, has recently expanded its ecommerce activities and is now looking to develop this area of the business substantially over the coming years.
The roles responsibilities for the Full Stack Web Developer are:
- Joining the business at a key period of exciting growth, the Lead Web Developer will report directly to the Head of Ecommerce, and be responsible for the technical management and development of the company's Ecommerce websites.
- As part of a small team, Web Developer role is hands-on and dynamic, and the Lead Web Developer will be responsible for driving the development of the websites and related systems. As the Web Developer develops, there will also be the opportunity to build and grow a successful web development team around them.
- Acting as the technical Full Stack Web Developer, Magento and PHP expert within the business, the Lead Web Developer will ensure that all development and code follows best practice and meets the relevant industry standards.
Web Developer (Magento/PHP) responsibilities will include:
- User-focused web development (front & back-end)
- Magento development & maintenance
- Manage server maintenance & liaise with third-party hosting provider
- Liaise with external developers, 3rd party extension authors, etc.
- Lead the project to migrate the current website and server management to one that is managed in-house
- Plan, implement and test new functionality and features
- Assist with bug-fixing, identification of website issues, and work as the technical lead in the Ecommerce team on projects and tasks
- Integration with third party services and platforms
- Experience of working with third party Magento themes and extensions
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV – ecommerce integration
Requirements for the Web Developer are:
- Excellent experience of developing Ecommerce websites on Magento 1.x and 2.x
- Experience of developing custom Magento components, and working with third-party themes and extensions
- Excellent knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL
- Solid understanding of UX, accessibility, and responsive web design
- Proven working knowledge of setting up and optimising LAMP environments
- Thorough understanding of Ecommerce website development processes including requirements gathering, feature and task prioritization, source code management, automated unit and functional testing, build, and deployment.
- Must be a self-starter and problem-solver, with the ability to work independently as well as under instruction
- •Experience with Microsoft NAV would be beneficial
Other Information for the Web Developer
- Salary will be c£35,000 per annum (DOE), based on 37.25 hours/week.
